Waning Moon, Waxing Philosophical

The image of this lady's ass in the air makes me want to commune with the higher mind. Butt (pun intended), my horoscope today talks about depths. The planet Pluto is used as a heuristic for depths, a touchstone if you will. This is the planet of sex and extremes. Ever notice how extreme philosophies tend to have radical views about sex (or none at all which can be seen as a statement in itself)?

Why are illegal aliens invading where I live? I mean, I am totally supportive of people being part of the American dream. When we talked about this in high school, I remember having a strong emotional reaction about wanting to define my community. I believe in indigienous rights, that people should respect others' culture. I extend that to people when I am in other countries. I kind of expect the same. The zapatistas don't want my country's corporations taking their land, and I don't want them taking my job.

I realize now that I am really against turning workers into non-citizens, people who are completely without rights with respect to their employer. If capitalist success stories are always right, then what have they to fear in giving workers citizen-ship status?

One time my friend had to treat this migrant worker for the scariest case of hemorroids you could imagine. She is a nurse who volunteers with migrant worker populations. In this man's country, the greatest fear is being humiliated. The pain that he had suffered instead of seeking treatment is not something we would really care to think about. Because even if he tried to seek medical attention, he would have been excoriated by our medical system for his non-citzen status, to say nothing of the pretty scary hemoroids themselves.

I keep meaning to read this book, but I have hesitated because I feel that philosophizing about humiliation, as about justice, has the effect of isolating fear/ego based paradigms out of the picture.

I am posting to support what I claim to believe, that this blog and the sites that it reference describe fantasies of control and punishment.
