What Do You Think of This Idea?
I'm back in West Virginia, spending a lovely week alone with my two sons. So where's Bethany, you ask?
Well, I'm glad you asked! She's been gone the last week and won't be back until after Thanksgiving, filming another full-length movie. This one features two of the most popular girls on the Web (no, I can't tell you who!) in a story about witchcraft, curses, (and of course, lots of agressive, voluptuous sex) -- and the violent, bloody struggle of an ancient succubus against the unwitting descendent of her nemesis of many, many centuries ago. I haven't been able to get there, but just hearing Bethany talk about it makes my mouth alternately water (as I hear about the juicy parts) and go completely dry when she tells me about the suspense and the horror that awaits the unwitting victims of this ancient, voluptuous demon.
The quality of every movie we do is better than the last; we are learning at an incredible pace. At this shoot we have a full lighting truck and a professional director of lighting; we also have a professional make-up artist and special effects person to bring the gory parts to life (or death!). Bethany said that she was blown away by the quality of the video feeds and couldn't believe that her writing was coming to life like this - better than even her vivid imagination could envision.
As we were talking last night, it occurred to me that what we need to do is put a continuous camera feed of the shoot on the Web, so I can tune in when I get time and watch the magic unfold. No editing or interference - set up two or three cameras and let them roll; when something is happening, fine. When not, go get a sandwich or watch football.
As we were talking about it, it came to us simultaneously - why not do it for everybody?! Set up the cameras, let them run and anybody who wants to be the "fly on the wall" at a real life adult film shoot could simply subscribe to the feed and be on the set for two full weeks, just as if they were part of the crew! (It would have to be subscription only, to keep the kiddies on the Web from watching and getting us all in trouble!). I think everybody would go nuts to have an opportunity to see something like that.
Any thoughts? Do you think this would be something people would be interested in?

That sounds pretty cool. How would it work? What happens when there's no action?

I don't have all the technology at my fingertips, but we have some friends at PinkTV who are doing it; I can consult with them. My basic idea was to keep probably three cameras on all the time. You would be able to switch between them with a click; if there wasn't anything going on in one, maybe another would have something. We would anticipate pricing somewhere between thirty and forty dollars, but it would depend on how much it costs us to do it. This would give you access to the set for the entire time - on the last shoot it was nine days! The viewer would be in on all the scenes - the setup, the discussions with the director, and the scene itself...I've been on most of our shoots - once you've seen people get spanked (or have sex) in person, it's kind of repetitive; the behind-the-scenes stuff is sometimes more interesting than the finished product.
