The Six Wives of Henry D. Aith

by Judith McClaren

Eight chapters

Completed:
November 2, 2006

Contented bachelor and former Wyoming lumberjack Henry Aith thinks he's found the woman of his dreams in Annabel, a desperate young heiress he meets in town. Annabel is rich, beautiful, winsome, well-bred, (and did I mention, wealthy?) Charmed by the lady's wide-eyed innocence and her heartrending need of help, Henry is swept into a whirlwind courtship and wedding, and then rides happily off with his new bride to the prosperous mountain "estate" she claims to own. On arriving, though, Henry discovers that the peaceful hearth and gracious home he envisioned is actually a run-down cabin occupied by live chickens… AND by Annie's unkempt, uneducated sisters–five of marriageable age and several younger. All of the filthy cabin's filthy occupants, (except for the chickens) are foul-mouthed, unsisterly little hellions, no happier to see Henry than he is to see them.

With the only narrow mountain pass in or out of the mountain valley blocked by a winter storm,
though, poor Henry is trapped like a rat. So, after first taking the time (Quite a LOT of time, actually) to take his conniving new bride dutifully across his knee and paddle the truth (or part of it) out of her, he undertakes to make the best of the situation, by taming and educating ALL of the sisters.

Henry's work is cut out for him. If he is ever to enjoy the quiet life he dreamed of, he'll have to marry off his five hellish sisters-in-law. But first, he'll have to make them proper ladies–or as close to human as he can get. And before any of THAT, he'll have to tame and win back his own short-tempered wife. A long winter, a daunting task, and a LOT of spankings.

Her lifelong dreams of excitement and passion come all too true for Susannah as she sails for China on a tall, fast Clipper with a man whose loving effort to “bring her down a peg” sometimes requires almost as many sound, hard spankings across his muscular knee as it does romantic moments. Impulsive and spirited, Susannah finds herself expelled and jailed, ‘rounding the Horn in a shrieking gale, shipwrecked and castaway on a windswept exotic island in the Pacific, kidnapped by “white slavers” in early San Francisco’s seamy Barbary Coast, and spanked all the way from Boston to Peking...all in search of love and happiness.

Brats in Paradise

by Judith McClaren

Eight chapters

Most recent update:
September 28, 2006

So, what’s an adorable brat to do when she’s offered a all-expenses- paid cruise of the South Pacific? Romance on the high seas, moonlight on emerald lagoons, swaying palm trees, gourmet meals…Except there’s this little shipwreck problem, you see, which pretty much screws your whole vacation, and you wind up on some wannabee “Gilligan’s Island”, sleeping in a falling-down grass shack, sharing the pool with girl-eating sharks, fighting off bats and repulsive crab armies, and watching your toe-nail polish chip. And at the end of every glorious afternoon in the sun comes the highpoint of your day! Dinner “al fresco” (that means in the sand, with bugs the size of baked potatoes and Roasted Rat in Coconut Sauce as the chef’s specialty.)

So, what girl wouldn’t get a little cranky with all that, right? Who wouldn’t understand a few tantrums, a little whining, a little foot-stamping? After all, brats are human, too.

Oh, and did I mention that you ‘re stuck here with this TERRIFIC looking hunk, who COULD make your day VERY nice, but instead, doesn’t think your tantrums are cute at ALL, and takes every opportunity to spank the living daylights out of your perky bottom whenever he gets miffed about any little thing! (Do you have ANY idea how many nasty things there are to get your butt spanked with in paradise?)

And then, just when you think nothing can get worse, you’re invaded by three MORE castaways. There’s this GREAT looking older guy, and two (ugh) women, one of whom is another brat, who makes YOU look like Mother Theresa! And guess what? This guy is every bit as handy with a paddle or a bamboo cane as the first one. Are we ladies lucky, or what?

And so it goes, five happy campers, frolicking in the sand from crisis to crisis (and spanking to spanking), until love blooms. Where and with whom? You’ll just have to read and find out!

Deceived

NOW UPDATED WEEKLY!

Dane hoped an interview with the reclusive author would jumpstart his career as a freelance writer, but he hadn't counted on the late season storm, or getting lost in the woods with a sprained ankle and a concussion. He awakes hours later, stranded on a small island with none other than the lovely young author of his dreams. But she isn't at all what he'd expected. She is too naïve to have written those steamy love scenes. Her speech is often vulgar, and she has more prickles than a porcupine. He can't explain why he is attracted to her.

Something isn't right, though. One minute she is surly, the next she's so polite she could give Martha Stewart some lessons. He pulls her over his lap to give her a good, hard spanking, but a few days later when he gets a chance for a repeat performance, she has healed completely - not a single bruise remains. It's almost as if she were two different people. Then she bowed her head, her part slightly crooked and her long, blond hair in a tangled knot, and he figures out the truth. She has multiple personality disorder. Now he must gain her trust, and get her to a hospital where she can get the help she needs. Falling in love with her wasn't part of his plan, but somehow, he can't seem to prevent it.

Danni knew she was a lot of things, but a liar wasn't generally one of them. It was all her sisters' fault, too. They'd concocted the harebrained idea of publishing their first romance novels under a single name. Danni had gone along with it, as lots of writers used pseudonyms. But then this hopeful wannabe had to come along looking for an interview, and instead of telling him the truth, Emily insisted that they keep up the charade. They look enough alike to fool him, especially since he lost his glasses in the storm, but they don't act anything alike. Emily is bossy, worldly, and prissy. Rose is young and innocent. And Danni is about as graceful as a gooney bird. What really hurts, too, is that she is starting to like the idiot flatlander sleeping in her bed. But what will he do when he learns the truth?

The Girl Who Would be Queen

by Ross

Nine chapters

Completed:
May 26, 2005

Elizabeth Tudor, daughter of Henry and his second wife, Queen Ann Boleyn, was born and grew to womanhood in tumultuous times. Her mother died on the scaffold, as did one of her stepmothers. Elizabeth herself was for a time in the grim shadow of that dreadful platform at the Tower of London where the headsman did his work. Three monarchs sat upon the English throne between the death of Henry and the accession of Elizabeth I, and one of them knelt for executioner’s axe at the tender age of sixteen.

The Tudor times were hard. The monarch’s word was law, and although the Council had great powers, once a king or queen gained power, the final word was theirs.

Life was rough and ready. The class system kept people in their places. Little is known of the common people of the time, for little or no record was kept of this who did not distinguish themselves in some way or were gentry, nobility or royal. Laws were strict and justice harsh. Family life was also under strict control, and there, too as by the state, discipline was sternly and routinely meted out. Despite those things, humankind was humankind, as now. People had the same needs as in this day, had the same desires, and enjoyed the pleasures of the flesh. It was into such a world that Elizabeth was born.

Ours is the story of Elizabeth, but the others share the tale. Here, against a setting of historic personages and real events, we enter her private life as it might well have been. Back into time, then, we’ll travel and watch the girl on her journey to become a Queen.

Holly Peterson had been humiliated a year ago on Christmas Eve by her ex-fiancé, who considered her only a “passable” choice as a wife—while intending to keep his lover on the side. El Jerko had seen her as a playbunny with no real brains. True, she was a woman who flitted from job to job and never took life seriously, until that moment…until she tossed the ring back in his face. She walked away that night; certain she’d never love again, and never celebrate Christmas again.

Brandon McNamara was in desperate need of a highly skilled personal assistant to replace the one who’d eloped and moved without giving notice. He needed someone prepared to work with a successful, demanding businessman like him. Someone to come in and immediately handle the planning details of the company’s annual Christmas party. Holly was in no way qualified, but there was just something about the spirited young woman who had him hiring her. He did warn her that he expected a lot of hard work from her. As sanity hit him that he’d just hired the totally wrong person for the job, he added that there would be serious consequences should she not obey and comply with all of his orders. He hadn’t exactly said he meant spanking, but he did. She took the job anyway…heaven help them both.

Kate's been in love with Johnny since she was six years old. He was the first person to take an interest in her, teaching her right from wrong, and enforcing his lessons with a thorough spanking. But he started acting strange when she grew breasts, and he's practically ignored her for the past two years, after she moved into the schoolteacher's cabin in town. And now he wants her to marry him? It's only been all she's ever wanted, but he didn't say the magic words that would make it every girl's dream come true. He didn't say he loved her.

When the townspeople think Kate's virtue has been compromised, they force Johnny to marry her at gun point. It looks like they both got what they wanted - but what will it take to make them happy?

Ralie Osmond headed the security team for an ambassador who was authorized to make a treaty deal with the natives of a backward, low-tech world. The ambassador was a fool who didn't like the way Ralie ignored his improper orders and his even more improper advances, so he made a secret arrangement that Ralie would not find out about until it was too late.

Thanat id Gandon was the leader of his people for two very good reasons, but patience for smirking, too-independent women wasn't part of his character. He needed Ralie to help out with a nasty problem he had, but mostly he dreamed about the time he'd be able to put her over his knee to teach her some of the manners she hadn't shown during the time she'd spoken to him.

I found this peculiar document in a writing desk I purchased for just a few dollars in a run-down little junk shop in London. The desk was in bad condition, and when I couldn't get one of the drawers open, I resorted to a large pair of scissors, and pried it open. The drawer slides had been jammed by a pile of stained and crumbling pages bundled together with a thin, faded blue ribbon. Old love letters, I thought. How sweet! "The Bridges of Madison County", maybe? I began to see the "New York Times Best Seller List" in my future!

As I began to read, though, I realized that the pages weren't letters at all, but a sort of journal, written maybe a hundred years ago, if you can believe the date. The whole manuscript had taken a lot of water damage and wear, and parts of it were pretty much illegible. It took several months to get the pages straightened out and "translate" the erratic handwriting, although it WAS written in English, by a woman with a fairly good education, a big mouth and a really bad temper.

The writer claims to be related to the famous writer and historian, H.G. Wells, and writes about an amazing voyage through time by the young woman and her husband. I know, ridiculous, right? An effort to crank out a work of science fiction and make a quick buck on the celebrated (and rich) tails of "Uncle Herbert"? Maybe, but there's something about the thing that rings true, and while I'm really not a big believer in time travel, I suppose there's a chance that she was simply crazy as a bedbug. She was certainly a giant pain in the ass, and a major brat, as you'll see when you begin to read. This lady gets herself spanked a LOT, and it sounds like she had most of those spankings coming!

True? Not true? Your guess is as good as mine, but it makes a great read, as they romp through space and time, getting tangled up with cold-blooded killers from the year 3600, blundering back and forth through time from the middle ages to our own mid-town Manhattan, from the old South to ancient Rome, and running into an assortment of characters such as sicko-spacemen and spanking gladiators, Wild Bill Hickock and Henry the Eighth, Barbary pirates and grumpy cave men. Whatever you believe, you won't be bored.

A week into the visit, Rebecca is frustrated because Seth doesn’t seem to see her as anything but his sister’s little friend. He’s ignoring her, and it sparks Rebecca’s temper into doing something very foolish indeed. While Seth is taking a swim, she steals his buckskins, and runs away with them. Halfway back to the cabin, common sense prevails, and she leaves them where he will see them, then hurries to put distance between them.

Seth is well aware that his Ma and little sister have hand-picked the pretty little redhead for his wife, and to tell the truth, he’s not adverse to the idea. Still, there is a proper way to go about things, and he would speak to her Pa first, and make sure the man had no objections to leaving his daughter behind. However, when Rebecca swipes his clothes, and leaves him buck naked to face the world, Seth’s ‘hand off’ policy is history. The little brat needs a good spankin’, and he’s just the man for the job. She needs to learn there are consequences to bad behavior.

Rebecca isn’t the only female in need of a good spanking in this historical story, set in Ohio circa 1771.
